Homework There will be NO written homework this year in my class. After working hard all day at school, children need time for running, playing, biking, swimming, visiting the public library, etc. I encourage and desperately hope you will read with your child DAILY for 20-30 minutes. Research shows that children that read outside of school every day build much larger vocabularies, and in turn have greater academic success, than those that do not. For those WANTING a homework routine, I suggest 10 minute increments with brain breaks/stretch breaks in between:
Designate a routine HW space that is well lit, comfortable and attractive, yet structured, and most importantly quiet! Again, homework WILL NOT be assigned or monitored by me, but you may create a personal routine if you wish! It’s going to be a great year of new learning and growth!
